The display at the left shows part of the Windows interface for controlling an industrial furnace. The target and measured temperatures at various positions are displayed graphically and their numerical values are tabulated near the bottom of the screen. Target temperatures can be modified while the controller is active. Persistent Vision designed a hardware interface for the furnace and the PC software to provide the control and display. |

The photo at the right shows part of a prototype using emitter-coupled logic circuits to achieve high-speed operation. The multilayer printed-circuit board includes stripline interconnections, in order to preserve fast logic-signal transitions. |

The photo at the left shows Persistent Vision's own microcontroller board, based on a PIC16F873 processor. This is a versatile board, economical for prototypes or small production runs. Here the microcontroller is being used as part of a new product. The simulation panel allows the software to be tested off-line, so that development of the mechanical hardware is not interrupted. |
